Re: To His Royal Highness, King Karos V of Griffon's Aerie

The following morning, the bottle is found emptied, with note and label removed, swinging from the gallows. The note attached to it reads, in an uneven hand

Nikea prefers whites, but we may be convinced to enjoy red.

Re: Ops Promotion & Fall Out

On the case of nepotism, I would like to mention that Margo said repeatedly during the time where she was coming up with her votes that she didn't want this to be a case of "Margo vouches for each of these so they must be awesome". But the idea that one can entirely disassociate oneself fr...

Re: The issue of firearms, airships, and steam punk.

Most people saying no here stubbornly do so out of bias and fear without basis. This ad hominem doesn't belong here. The people who are arguing against firearms have given the basis, and that is "the feel of the channel was created this way, and we like it this way and not this other way."...

On forums and the OOC

Hey, folks. With all the various projects (7, at the moment) going on in the channel revitalization, there are a few things that we feel need to be addressed in a pseudo-official manner. The first point I would like to discuss here is the use of the forums. Since we're taking on new ops, we want to ...

Re: The issue of firearms, airships, and steam punk.

I have never and will never be cool with firearms of any type in a game that is low-magic fantasy. Players have talked up the science and tried to define their way around this restriction for years, often trying to imply that time has passed in the game world, and therefore someone MUST have found i...

Re: Countries Moved over to the Wiki

All of Secca is migrated, but hasn't been updated to the current time. I'm working on the history blurb to update Griffon's Aerie and Leturia, then I'll migrate them.

ATTENTION: Call for Ops

As is probably obvious to the players of BDI at this point, the op team has been left a little thin for the past few months due to attrition, and with Amy's hiatus from ophood, we feel it's time to open up the panel to some fresh blood. We intend to bring in two or three new operators for a probatio...

Re: Arangothian Standing Army

I have to agree with JD on this. It's a mainstay of fantasy RPG that people bring in bits of modern society that they think are the most impressive to play. The idea of tactical strike squads and advanced army intelligence just doesn't mesh with medieval-fantasy milieu.

Re: The Official Darkmyst Discussion

I've been the holdout against the move to Darkmyst for who knows how long simply because of my play there some time ago, during which I observed some extremely shady behavior on the part of people in charge of the network. I won't name names, but this was along the lines of PM snooping, or special &...
