Malbria ul Flardossa - The News They Don't Want You To Know.

Post by BetaFlame »

Citizens,

Today I will be sharing with you news that our good friends at the Rumor Mill have been too afraid to tell you.

They are afraid to tell you that Drache is falling apart. Here, in our lovely city we have open riots in the streets, while our good guards look the other direction.

Why, less than a week ago just outside the Lord Admiral's home gathered an angry mob, demanding that the Haves share with the Have-Nots. What did they demand? Gold? Treasure? No. The most basic of needs.. food. Food and clean water. Both of these things the Good Admiral seems to have and horde, but would not share.

Who would ride to the citizen's recuse? The Sithrie? Local lords and ladies, seek to assuage the pain of their people? No, it was not. Riding to the aid of the good citizens was the Dark Baron of Millakamrath, Ravynetti Tivaurd. For two days he would feed us and give us succor in our time of need, while the fat politcos and nobles sat high, laughing and eating their fill.

Most recently, Karys Renaven, Countess of Arlohorna has made her attempt to feed us and relieve our dying and withering crops. Crops that almost seem to reflect the broken backs of the poor and hungry here. A noble, not even from our southern lands, lends us aid. Where are the others? What will it take to make them turn their eyes away fromt he glitter of their gold that blinds them to the truth?

Looting and fight in the streets has become common, men that cannot feed their families are desperate and will do anything. Windows shatter like the dreams of the shopkeep as the food they have to sell is taken from them. I have seen men killed for a basket with three loaves of bread. Buildings have been burned as citizens push and shove to buy what little food they can, only to have it shaken from their hands around the corner by ruffians.

And the truth is, my dear reads, that Drache is surely falling apart. Her people rage the fabric of our society, pushing and toiling against the blanket that holds us down. The stitches are starting to fray and what will occure when that thing fabric actually breaks?

Yours,
History's Observer
