The youth may as well be dead as he's loaded on, his body limp, cold, lifeless. It's hours of riding down steep slopes, away from the camp and through the darkness of the forested, rocky descent. Thalion likely couldn't go quite as swiftly as he'd want, for the way is treacherous even during full light. That sense of ominous darkness, that sense that a hunter may linger on the horizon fades the further they get away from that dark door, and they are left with only those normal dangers of the wilds to contend with.
It might seem an almost peaceful descent, save for the dead weight of the youth, and it isn't until hours have past, and they haev made great progress down the slopes that the youth begins to cough weakly, stirring some as the poison wears from his blood. Still numb, still limp, those ragged breaths and uncontrollable shivering of what can be moved tell that the youth is alive. Further, they hint at what might have been. The foul abomination's poison seemed to mimic true death so perfectly that a more hasty disposal would have resulted in a live burial.
Although the slopes are much, much more gentle by the time the 'dead' boy comes back to life, one can only hope that Thalion and his mount are in well enough control of their descent not to be startled off of the side of the path, and into the tumbling hills below.
