Suggestions:

a) If there's going to be a tourney with more than eight players total, across all classes? Allow at least a week to ten days. Scheduling bouts is an enormous pain.

b) Sundays are usually the best nights for scheduling balls (and balls are always a big IC draw).

We don't have a week to 10 days for the tourney, unfortunately.

First off, let me say that I love everyone here.

Second, let me say there's no way in hell you'll have a tourney that draws more than eight people on two weeks' notice, for two days of combat.

Past tourneys were usually weeks in the making and weeks in the execution (when things ran smoothly), albeit with more players. It's a GM/planning intensive business.

Also, why don't we have time? The tourneys were always a player-intensive events, got folks involved. I'd think "involved" is what we're going for. Time? Well, we've got a lot of it.

Actually, why not separate/run the tourney separate from the Harvest Festival so we've got all the time in the world? The Int'l Tourney's always been it's own event, anyhow. ./spitball

As a crafty ring veteran, here are my experiences running the past three tourneys:

First of all, the tourney will last about three weeks, if not more, to execute.

Second of all, the most popular thing to do has always been to use an autumn harvest festival as a kick-off to the tourney season, followed by a big winner's party in the end.

Third of all, you need to advertise it a lot more than you're doing now, get submissions and draw up brackets.
