Biography
Found on the streets of Qarsythe as a week old orphaned kitten, Alsayida was taken into the care of an adept sorceress named Samira Ibez. Samira gave Alsayida her name, and then nursed her back to health. Once Alsayida was about four months old, Samira began to imbue the feline with magical energy, to change the kitten into a familiar. It was a long process that was not completed until Alsayida was roughly two years old. Amongst the gifts given to Alsayida was the one of psychic speech, so long as her Fareedah crystal hangs about her neck. As a familiar, Alsayida assisted Samira in her magical projects and experimentation, able to help contain or augment the flow or density of arcane energies.
Their research brought them to Drache. Not long after stretching their legs from the long caravan trip from the Najjira city-state, something happened, which Alsayida is not quite clear on the transpiring events. She awoke alone and unable to reach her mistress. No one seemed to know what had happened to the sorceress, and since then, Alsayida has been searching for her in the foreign city.
Personality
Alsayida might be magical, but she is still a cat at heart. Prim, fastidious and dignified at all times, she is impeccably groomed. She takes pride in her ability to assist Samira's work, and considers it her duty to the woman who saved her. To this end, she is fiercely loyal and dedicated. To others that she deigns to speak to, they are beneath her, and she only speaks to them as is necessary. When she does, she is full of sarcasm. If they were to put a glass of water on the counter, she would knock it off, out of spite.
Physical Description
Alsayida is the size of a domestic housecat and has a seal point patterned coat. Her extremities such as tail, legs, ears, and face are a much darker brown than the rest of her relatively tan body. Her eyes glow with a faint luminescence provided she is wearing her Fareedah talisman.
Abilities & Skills
Physical Attributes
Like all cats, Alsayida has teeth and claws to make her displeasure known. She is relatively light weight and has excellent balance. She has the dexterity and speed of an average housecat in the prime of its life, despite her magically enhanced age.
Mundane Skills
- Literacy: Alsayida can both read and write both forms of Najjira's written language. She also knows how to read and write the Common tongue. She uses a bit of telekinesis to control the pen when she writes.
- Pest Control: When she was not assisting Samira with her work, Alsayida was keeping the laboratory free of mice and scorpions. She is an adept hunter and always gets her prey.
- Tooth & Claw: Alsayida is capable and willing to scratch or bite any that offends her. She wears metal caps on her claws that are more durable and allow her to gain better purchase when climbing.
Magic Skills
- Arcane Manipulation: Alsayida can manipulate arcane energy, but not in any sort of way that can perform spells. She can amplify and diminish the flow of energy being drawn from the aether simply by being nearby her mistress. Energy can be safely channeled through her towards this end and allows to act as a safety valve or catalyst for Samira depending on her need. Samira can also channel spells through Alsayida's body, making contact with targets meant to be hit with spells. She can also shield arcane energy from entering or leaving a designated field of about twenty feet in diameter.
- Enhanced Senses: Through magic, Alsayida has keener hearing and vision than an ordinary housecat. She uses these abilities to observe things for her mistress.
- Magical Lifespan: Samira enhanced and extended Alsayida's lifespan, and it is unknown how long she might life given her frequent use as a magical enhancement.
- Telekinesis: Alsayida's telekinesis is weak and can only manipulate objects that are less than 50lbs. She can control fine objects or apparatuses, as well as pens or quills. She must be wearing her Fareedah talisman in order to use this ability.
- Telepathy: With the assistance of a piece of Fareedah crystal, Alsayida can speak in the minds of those without protections against psychic speech. She speaks in a very clear female voice that sounds a lot like Samira's speaking voice. She is capable of both words and imagery.

- Jahani Enchanted Dagger: A small, Jahani-made runed dagger that is stored in a small sheath along her side. It is enchanted to weigh less than a normal dagger. Made of steel and inscribed with Akenah runes, it does not require sharpening.
